If you are looking for a competitive AI transcription tool to make your meetings more productive, you might have heard of Fireflies. This article will help you understand fireflies best features. But more importantly, we also want, here, to go to the key point when you’ll have to make your choice between different tools (or between different options within Fireflies itself): pricing.

Before going further on this topic, let’s briefly remind what is Fireflies.

Please note: All the data in this article is accurate as of 9th January, 2025. It is possible prices have been updated since then.

What is Fireflies?

Fireflies is basically an AI-powered platform that automates meeting recording and transcriptions, generates smart summaries, and tracks important action items. It’s also designed to integrate seamlessly with popular video conferencing tools (like Zom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams). It makes it a useful tool for teams and businesses that work frequently with virtual meetings, in particular sales, marketing or recruiting teams.

Fireflies key features

In particular, Fireflies' main features are the following:

  • Video and audio recording;
  • AI-powered note taker;
  • Meeting transcription and summaries;
  • Automated CRM filling;
  • Task creation with voice command;
  • Instant sharing to collaboration tools.

Fireflies strengths

These functionalities can help you improve your overall performance and productivity. Indeed, using Fireflies correctly, you’ll be able to:

  • Save time by reviewing meetings in minutes thanks to AI-powered search, filtering the key topics discussed and seeing key metrics (action items, tasks, questions, etc.);
  • Facilitate the collaboration in your teams: with Fireflies, you can share your meeting notes to some collaboration apps (Slack, Notion, Asana, etc.), and you can make your summaries easy to understand with customization (comments, pins, reactions). Moreover, you can keep all your conversations in one place and even organize your meetings into specific channels;
  • Improve your decisions with data analytics: Fireflies helps you analyze your meetings through conversation intelligence. You can track key metrics to measure your performance (talk time, sentiment, monologues) in order to identify areas of improvement and then coach efficiently your teams;
  • Secure your data: you can ensure that your meeting information is visible only to the appropriate members of your team.

Fireflies Pricing Structure: 4 Different Price Options

Now let’s dive into Fireflies pricing structure. Fireflies proposets 4 different pricing options that give access to 4 different sets of features.

1. Free plan

First, you can use Fireflies freely, without any limit in time.

The features you can get access to are Fireflies basics: mostly recording, playback and transcription (but the storage and time recording limits will be low), and some collaboration tools (like team workspace, but only  3 public channels).

2. Pro pricing

With Fireflies’ Pro solution, you can either:

  • Pay $18 per seat per month with a monthly subscription;
  • Pay $10 per seat per month with a yearly subscription.

In addition to all the free features, you’ll get access to most of the AI-powered solutions (meeting notes, summaries, analytics, insights). Moreover, you’ll have more storage capacity (even if it will still be limited) and get access to unlimited transcription. However, you won’t be able to use collaboration in private channels, and your integration capacities will be limited.

3. Business pricing

With Fireflies’ Business solution, you can either:

  • Pay $29 per seat per month with a monthly subscription;
  • Pay $19 per seat per month with a yearly subscription.

With this solution, you have access to the same features overall than in the Pro solution. The main difference is the access to complete integration, unlimited storage and collaboration in private channels. You also have access to some advanced analytics.

4. Enterprise pricing

With Fireflies Enterprise pricing, there is only one option:

  • It will cost you 39$ per seat per month; and the subscription is yearly.

You have access to all Fireflies’ features. The main difference with the other Pro and Business solution is that you get higher security and privacy (with private storage for instance). Less importantly, you can get access to some extra services (like onboarding programs) and to the latest Fireflies tools.

Assessing Fireflies Pricing : Final Verdict

Pros

Let’s go further into Fireflies pricing analysis.

Fireflies offers 4 different pricing options, which can be useful to adapt your purchase to your needs. Moreover, the Pro solution, in particular, is quite affordable, and Fireflies also proposes a free option.

Fireflies pricing can also be appealing because it offers several discounts. Indeed, yearly plans are 40% cheaper than monthly subscriptions for the two intermediate solutions, and you can also get a 10% discount if you are a student or a non-profit organization. Last, if you choose the most expensive solution, Fireflies proposes volume discounts for large scale enterprises (more than 50 members) - but Fireflies doesn’t specify the amount of the discount.

Cons

However, Fireflies Free, Pro and Business options might not suit your desires if you have important needs. First, the Free option is very limited: Fireflies says it is designed for “individuals starting out”, and indeed, it seems mainly designed to discover the product. The restrictions on recordings and storage are important, but above all, you can’t get access neither to Fireflies’ AI-powered solutions that really make the difference (in particular analytics and insight), nor to any integrations, which severely limits the ease of use in your processes.

Second, it’s true that Pro and Business options are more comprehensive - even if important functionalities are still missing and only available in the Enterprise option, notably for security and privacy (which remain as basic as in the free option). However, they are not fully satisfactory if you have important needs: both still have rate limits (3000 mins per user per month with an extra charge of $0.01 for every additional minute transcribed). Thus, you might be forced to choose the most expensive option if you think you will have an extensive use of the software - for instance if you are a sales team who makes a lot of calls and wants to monitor all of them to improve faster.

Indeed, Claap’s free version already gives access to the AI assistant and to a lot of integrations, which makes it already a helpful and practical tool. Moreover, among Claap’s 3 first licenses, one is already unlimited for video recordings and uploads; if you are a small or medium successful sales teams with important needs - and a lot of meetings and calls - who wants to make the most of them, the Business license, unlimited and very powerful, might be made for you.

Moreover, Claap’s higher pricing structure reflects a more comprehensive offer with a lot of functionalities available, whether for collaboration in your digital workspace, or with its powerful AI assistant. The two intermediate options also propose a real plus compared to the free option, for instance by giving access to video edition tools, or to security and administration devices.

With 4 very distinct licenses, Claap could therefore be the best compromise in terms of software capabilities and price options, and meet the needs of any type of business. You no longer have any excuses for not taking your business to the next level using the power of AI!
